Sworn Translation

I am registered with the Belgian FPS Justice as a sworn translator for the Belgian Courts of Appeal. I can therefore translate your official documents from Spanish and English into French.

Revision

I read your translations and compare them to the source text. My aim is to make sure that there are no more mistakes in the target text (mistranslations, barbarisms, omissions, additions, solecisms, etc.). I also undertake to correct any grammatical, spelling, punctuation, stylistic and typographical mistakes in the final document.

Post-Editing

I read your texts, which have been previously translated by machine translation software. Proofreading

I can also proofread your documents and the French version of your website. I make sure there are no syntax, spelling or typing errors. I also pay attention to punctuation, typography, consistency and style.

Transcription

I transcribe your audio and video files into text format. I can also make a summary, in which I mention only the most important points.

Correction of Documents

I proofread and correct your documents (theses, essays, etc.). I focus on grammar, spelling, punctuation, typography and style.

If you want to, I can also offer other services related to end-of-study work:
- creating a page layout and a table of contents ;
- compiling a bibliography in accordance with APA or MLA standards;
- printing and home delivery.

In addition to my own skills as a translator and proofreader, I use Antidote, a comprehensive professional proofreading software package.

Content Writing

I write the content of your articles, meeting minutes, PowerPoint presentations, letters, etc. The register and style I use are, of course, adapted to your target audience.

Localization

I adapt your text to your target audience. What do I do? After having carefully translated your documents, I modify certain elements of the text: currencies, units of measurement, telephone numbers, etc. My aim is for the reader to think that the text is specifically addressed to them.

During the localization process, I take into account a variety of factors such as culture, consumer habits, linguistic particularities (Belgicism, Francism, etc.), regulations, preferences, etc. I can also change graphics, colours, times, dates, clothing sizes and layout.

Transcreation

I adapt all your writing to your target market, even if this means moving away from the original text and no longer translating it literally.

Transcreation is a portmanteau word made up of two English words: "translation" and "creation". Transcreation is often used when it is not possible or advisable to simply translate a text literally. This involves adapting and reformulating a message in another language. The intention, style, tone and context of the source text must, however, be reproduced and conform to cultural conventions in force in that language.

Transcreation differs from simple translation in that it requires a higher level of creativity and takes into account the emotional impact of a message. Transcreation also involves thinking about the form of your content, i.e. images, layout, colours, etc.
